Welcome, al-Kitāb Student! Today, we will reflect on Exodus Chapter 36, which tells the story of how the Israelites wholeheartedly and willingly gave offerings for the construction of the Tabernacle. In this chapter, we will see how God works through skilled hands and willing hearts to establish His holy dwelling place. Let us explore the deeper meaning of this story.

The construction of the Tabernacle began with God stirring the hearts of the Israelites to offer their contributions. Bezalel and Oholiab, filled with wisdom and skill from God, led this work. The people brought materials as offerings, but something extraordinary happened—the contributions were so abundant that the workers had to ask Moses to stop the people from bringing more.
This event shows that when a person’s heart is moved by God, they will give freely and abundantly. The Israelites were not forced to give; instead, they were so eager to show their love for God that they gave more than enough.
After receiving sufficient materials, the workers began constructing the Tabernacle according to every detail that God had commanded Moses. The curtains, boards, and other furnishings were made with great craftsmanship, reflecting the majesty of God, who deserves the best from His people.
Application in Daily Life: Giving with Joy
Exodus 36 teaches us about having a willing heart in giving. The Israelites gave not out of obligation but out of gratitude to God. In our lives, do we give joyfully, or do we give only because we feel obligated?
God wants us to give not only in material things but also in our time, energy, and talents for His work. Just as Bezalel and Oholiab used their skills to build the Tabernacle, we are also called to use the gifts God has given us for His glory.
Reflective Questions: Serving God with a Willing Heart
Do we have a willing heart to give for God’s work?
How can we use the talents God has given us to serve Him?
Are we giving our best to God, or only offering what is left over?
"When the heart is moved by God, giving is not a burden but a joy."
Thank you for joining our reflection on Exodus Chapter 36. May we always have a willing heart in giving and use our talents for God’s glory. See you in the next discussion!
